The 28th of October marks the beginning of Word War II. It is named Ochi-day, as the Greek prime minister Metaxas replied with a big No to Mussolini’s request to occupy Greece. Ochi-day is commemorated throughout Greece with local parades.
In Xirokambi the small parade is held on the village square. For a bigger parade, head out to Sparta. Most parades start around 11 am; please check locally to be sure.
